Pulse of the Day (24.11.2020): Moving through Overwhelm

Welcome back to The Daily Pulse!

I cannot wait for November to get over already. I don't know about you but this month has been emotionally the deepest so far and this is by 2020 standards. I am eager, even excited to move into December.

I was watching something yesterday wherein I heard the line "perfection makes perfect, but that's foolish because human beings aren't perfect since we aren't machines. What can be said is perfection makes better." This really stayed with me and et voila, we have the Eight of Pentacles representing today's pulse.

If anything that 2020 has taught is the awareness of your humanness as a way to strive to be better, instead of the rigidity of control that shows up as perfectionism reducing yours as well as others' scope for long term growth. As the month comes closer to a wrap, most of us seem to be looking ahead with a sense of anxiety as well as fatigue, wondering how to plan ahead, move ahead and continue while the pandemic exists.

The card of the day is the answer to those questions - dedicate yourself with all your being to one thing and work on it for as long as you can, without distractions. What this card speaks of is stillness that comes with making, building and dedicating your body, mind and soul to something actively.

If you are looking to try and do too many things and that's overwhelming you, pick one thing, do that well and make peace with that. Not only will this approach tick off one thing from your list, it will also serve as a motivation to move to the next.

If you are in a very difficult mental state, as are the energies right now, pick up one thing - a playlist, a drawing, a podcast episode, a puzzle or a chore - and do that with 100% presence. No distractions, fully be with it. These are ways to allow yourself and your mind to ground and not run with the wind and further feed distress.

All in all, today take your focus to one thing and give it your 100% attention and see what that reveals.

Until tomorrow!
